Obituary of Margarita DeMatos
Margarita (Gonzalez) DeMatos, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her home in Warren. Born in Sarreaus/Bande-Orense, Spain she lived in Newark, before moving to Warren 50 years ago.
Margarita worked as a sewing machine operator for Today's Fashion in Newark for many years. She had also worked for various garment companies in Newark as a sewing machine operator before retiring. She was a member of the ILGWU International Ladies Garment Worker's Union. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and traveling with her husband. Margarita loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Predeceased by her loving husband Julio J. DeMatos in 1996.
Survived by her son Julio and his wife Viktoria of South Plainfield and her daughter Sylvia Smalley and her husband Bill of Warren; 2 grandchildren Michael DeMatos and his wife Carolann and Christina DeMatos.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel, Warren, NJ followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook.
