Obituary of Anthony J. Arcuri

Anthony J. Arcuri, Jr. South Plainfield: Anthony J. Arcuri, Jr., age 83, died on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at R.W.J. Somerset in Somerville. He was born in Plainfield and had lived in South Plainfield for the past 52 years. Mr. Arcuri served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement in 2006, he was the owner and operator of Tony's Garage in Fanwood for over 40 years. Mr. Arcuri was an active parishioner at St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Plainfield. He loved fishing, bowling, the Green Bay Packers and was passionate about cars. Mr. Arcuri is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Arcuri. Surviving are his wife, Elaine Tramontano; his sons, Michael Arcuri, Kevin Arcuri and his wife, Christine; His daughters, Kathleen Arcuri and Eileen Rayhon and her husband, Edward; his brother, Joseph Arcuri and his wife, Margaret; his sister, Beatrice Chiovon and his grandchildren, Emily Arcuri and Nicholas Arcuri. A visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 17th from 2-4 & 7-9 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux & St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 386 Sumner Ave., Plainfield. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 am at the church followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard of Clairvaux & St. Stanislaus Kostka Church or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 388101-9908.
