So sorry for your loss when I heard of John’s passing. John & I taught 4th grade together at Dayton Ave. Having him across the hall from me as a colleague were some of the best times of my teaching career. John always had a positive attitude, & was always cheerful. He had a strong faith & loved his family dearly, & beamed with pride whenever speaking of them. He will be missed dearly. RIP John...Linda Schneider

Mr. Stein , your memory will live on in the many stories I tell of your spaghetti sandwiches and Stein faces, and your love of Shel silverstein poetry. I am blessed to be able to say you were my Kindergarten teacher many moons ago. May you Rest In Peace and live on in all the memories we have of you. Sending my condolences to your family and loved ones.

Mr. Stein will always be a teacher I will never forget. He was my kindergarten teacher and he made learning so much fun. I remember that he used to draw "Stein" noses all over our papers and on the board. Everything he owned had a Stein nose on it. I also always made him spaghetti sandwiches on white bread. He loved these sandwiches. I was not only lucky to have Mr. Stein as my kindergarten teacher, but I worked with him at Dayton Avenue. Such a fun colleague and friend. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this very difficult time.

John, you were a true friend to all who knew you. As a Knight of Columbus you proudly embodied the spirit of the principles of our order: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism!!!
Whenever there was work to be done, you were there. A tall order, considering all the ministries you were involved in.
I know you are now resting in God's arms and are basking in His Love and Joy!
Rest in Peace my Brother and Good Friend

John, you will be remembered as a man who was always there for others! You never chose to be in the spotlight, but rather chose to work as Christ would have, silently and tirelessly. You are a good role model for your brothers in Cornerstone and the Knights of Columbus - your friendship was never taken for granted, but I felt it was a privilege to have known you. You led a full life and carried your cross proudly and without complaint. You faced your demons head on, knowing that Christ was with you all the time. All my love to your memory and family.

May God Bless and speed John directly to God’s side where John belongs after serving God, his family and his many ministries and communities so fully and faithfully. We lost a wonderful and very special friend and we pray for Linda, the Stein children and grandchildren who lost a loving husband, father and grandfather.
