Obituary of Joseph Sole

Joseph Sole, age 92, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown. Born and raised in Passaic, he has lived in Warren for over 50 years. Joseph served in the United States Marines during World War II, achieveing the rank of private first class. He was wounded in combat as a trained sharpshooter patricipating in operations against enemy forces in the Ryukyu Islands and Okinawa, Japan. Joseph received the Purple Heart for his bravery. Prior to retiring Joseph worked for AJ Barry in New York City as a Production Director. Survived by his loving wife Dolores (Mele) Sole. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A gathering will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday February 23, 2018 at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
