Obituary of Barbara Wayman

Barbara Henderson Wayman died peacefully on March 13, 2018 in Watchung, New Jersey at the age of 86. She lived in Westfield for over 44 years. Barbara Wayman is survived by her three children; Peter Wayman (Barbara), Lynn Weiss (Roy) and Lowell Wolfson (Jonathan), grandchildren; Becky Wayman Rasdall, Lexi Wayman, Sam Wolfson and Henry Wolfson, and three great grandchildren; Zoey Rasdall, Zach Rasdall and Violet Rasdall. She was predeceased by her former husband Peter Wayman. Barbara was born in New York City on August 17, 1931 to Donald and Adelaide Henderson. She graduated from Bronxville NY High School and Summa Cum Laude with an RN from UCCC. She served as a registered nurse at Overlook Hospital and then Summit Oaks Hospital. After retirement she enjoyed working at the Westfield YMCA where she cheerfully welcomed morning exercisers. Barbara was a coffee lover, avid reader, movie goer, arts enthusiast and world group traveler, having visited six continents. She was a longtime friend of Bill W and a great encouragement to many individuals along the way. She enjoyed playing bridge and gathering with friends to pray the rosary.
