Obituary of Francesca Alfano

Francesca Amendola-Alfano, age 59, of Warren, NJdied peacefully at home on Monday with her family by her side. She was born in San Gregorio Magno, Italy on July 30,1958 to the late Francesco Amendola and Giulia Naddeo Amendola. She spent her early years in Nutley, NJ and settled with her family in the Somerset Hills area of NJ. She attended Seton Hall University and graduated from Seton Hall Law School in 1983. She worked as an attorney for many years in private practice as a sole practitioner. She also worked as an arbitrator for Forthright from 2004 to 2016 andmost recently at the Law Offices of Leanza, Agrapidis and Maroules in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Francesca enjoyed volunteering and participating in fund-raising events for her children's schools. She had an infectious smile that led to many long-lasting friendships. She was an amazing hostess and always welcomed everyone to her home. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially at the Jersey Shore during the summer months. Francesca is survived by her husband, Franco Alfano and two children, Marco and Gianna, her mother Giulia Amendola, of Nutley and sister,Albertina (Tina) Amendola of Eatontown. Family and friends will be received Thursday, March 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, www.higginsfuneralhome.com, 752 MountainBoulevard, Watchung, NJ. A Christian Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Church, 167 Mount Bethel Road, Warren, NJ. Followed by commital prayers at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge. Her final resting place will be St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
