Obituary of Dong Kwak

Watchung: Dong M. Kwak, MD, age 76, passed away on Saturday May 5, 2018 at his home in Watchung NJ. Born in South Korea, Dr. Kwak moved to the United States in 1969 and had resided in Watchung since 1984. Dr. Kwak received his bachelor's degree from Pusan National University in South Korea and earned his medical degree at Pusan National University and at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he also completed his residency. He had worked as a physician at Overlook Hospital in Summit for over two decades and most recently at various surgical centers in New Jersey. Dr. Kwak was an avid sports fan; his two favorite teams were the NY Yankees and the NY Giants, passions he shared with his three sons. He also enjoyed golfing and dining out with his family and friends, but was especially fond of spending time with his many grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Chung Ok Kwak; three sons Chris and his wife Jenny, Danny and his wife Diane and Brian and his wife Minna. He is also survived by five grandchildren Charlotte, Ryan, Brandon, Zach and Lucas. A visitation will be held on Tuesday May 8th 2018 from 10:30 to 12:30 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07069 followed by a 12:30 funeral service. The entombment will be private.
