Obituary of Robert G. Marhold

Robert G. Marhold, Jr.

Robert G. Marhold, Jr., age 73, passed away om Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Kindred Hospital New Jersey at Rahway surrounded by his family. He was born in Newark, raised in Cranford and lived in Martinsville for the past 35 years.

Mr. Marhold received his Associate's Degree from Union County College.

He served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Marhold was the Director of MIS for Boyle Midway.

His favorite thing to do was be with his children and grandchildren. He loved birds and had many bird houses and feeders outdoors. He loved a good party, scotch and cigars and going to restaurants especially Mama Rosina's in Bound Brook. He loved to travel to different countries and to different states with his wife, a favorite stop being Hot Dog Johnny's. Mr. Marhold enjoyed listening to country music, one of his favorite artists was Jimmy Buffett.

He is predeceased by his son, Peter Ziefel and his sister Irene Marhold.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra (DiPippa) Marhold; his children, Jim Marhold and his wife, Kathleen, Patty Smith and her husband, Sean and Douglas Ziefel and his wife, Dee Dee; his grandchildren, Douglas, Melina, Patrick, Maggie and Matthew and his sister, Marian Gellman.

A memorial service will be on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11AM at Mama Rosina's.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.

And as Bob would often say: "You are probably wondering why I asked you here".
