Obituary of Carol M. Parker

Carol M. Parker, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at the Kindred Hospice Center in Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens GA. Born in Plainfield on February 21, 1928 to the late Ernest Pierson and Lillian (Cassett) Pierson, Mrs. Parker had resided there most of her life. Recently due to medical conditions she moved to Winder, GA to be closer to her son. Mrs. Parker had worked at Markay Bags in Plainfield for 32 years as a supervising seamstress. She later went on to work at Studio 3 in Plainfield for 9 years and most recently at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in the central supply department retiring at age 72. She was an active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Plainfield and had served as an usher for over 35 years. Mrs. Parker enjoyed playing Bingo and traveling, especially to the Islands; but most of all she loved spending time with her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband James Parker Sr. She is survived by her son James Parker Jr. and his wife Enaud: four grandchildren Kiley Parker, Eris Merriet, Jasmin Davis and Latasha Cooper, seven Great Grandchildren James, Machai, Da'Nyse Kaylee, Maia, Marlee and Jordan. A visitation will be held on Thursday June 28, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 216 Liberty St. Plainfield from 10 to 12pm with funeral service to follow. The interment will be at Hillside Cemetery Scotch Plains NJ.
