Obituary of Paul Archbold
Paul L. Archbold, age 79, passed away on July 11, 2018 at NJ Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater. He was born in Plainfield and lived in Scotch Plains, Plainfield and South Plainfield before settling in Warren 40 years ago.
Mr. Archbold graduated with a Business Degree from Rutgers University. He was for many years, a controller for Mattel/Standard Plastics Company in South Plainfield and for Celotex in Perth Amboy.
Mr. Archbold was a former member of the Scotch Plains Baptist Church in Scotch Plains and the Pilgrim Covenant Church in Warren.
He was a past member of the Warren Township Committee and a two term Mayor. Mr. Archbold was also a member of the Warren Township Planning Board where he was instrumental in the Mt. Laurel decision on affordable housing in Warren.
Mr. Archbold enjoyed his home improvement projects, tinkering in his yard and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Judith LaCroix Archbold; his children, Tracey Archbold, Paul Archbold and his wife, Jennifer and Robert Archbold; his grandchildren, Colin, Madelyn and Brendan. He is also survived by his sister Beverly Dunn and sisterts-in-law, Bonnie Stauffer and Cindy Mocerino.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home at 10:00 am. The interment will follow at Scotch Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
