Obituary of Lillian Ziomek

Lillian Ziomek, 87 of North Plainfield passed away peacefully at her home on July 14, 2018, with her family by her side.     She was born and lived her entire life in North Plainfield.  

                Lillian was the beloved Mother to her six children – Debbie Bennet and husband Dale, Joseph Ziomek and wife Lisa, Wendy Federico, James Ziomek, Barbara Walker and husband Douglas, Julie Freehauf and husband Al.   She was also the proud Grandmother of 9 grandchildren – Erin Levental; Tara Halaychick; Melissa, Joseph and Morgan Ziomek; Michael and Matthew Federico; Amy Ziomek; and Sara Freehauf.   As well, she was the Great-Grandmother to Colby Levental and Lennox Ziomek.    She also leaves one brother, Frank Perkowsky and his wife Marie.    

She was predeceased by her Husband Joseph, whom she was happily married to for 45 years.   She was also predeceased by 2 Grandsons – Douglas Liam Walker and Robert Joseph Freehauf; 3 brothers, John Perkowsky; Edward Smith and Thomas Smith; and her sister Teresa Newman.

Besides being a full time Mother of six, she worked for Helen Elliott Candies, K-Mart and AT&T.   She was a founding member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, an active member of the Rosary Society and participated in Church events.   She enjoyed her Bingo game, vacationing with her family and attending her children’s sporting events.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19th from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung.   Funeral services will begin on Friday, July 20th at 9 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Bernard of Clairvaux - St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Plainfield.   Burial will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
