Obituary of Vera Chiara

Vera (Coltri) Chiara, age 97, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018. Born and raised in Raritan, she had resided in Bound Brook before moving to North Plainfield in 1973. Vera served in the Women's Corp of the U.S. Army as a Lab Technician during World War II. She also worked for the Somerset County Library driving a book truck. Vera was a member of St. Joseph's RC Church, North Plainfield and was at peace with her faith. Vera was a devoted wife and mother to her children John and Maria Chiara. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader. Predeceased by her husband Frank Chiara in 1960. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 28th at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's RC Church, North Plainfield. Interment of cremated remains was held privately at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
