Obituary of Alphonse A Perrette

Alphonse A. Perrette, age 88, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at The Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains, NJ.  Born in Plainfield and most recently resided in Bridgewater.

Mr. Perrette  graduated from Plainfield High School in 1948.  Al served in the U.S. Army 1951-1953 and fought in the Korean War.

 He was an electrician for 47 years and retired from I.B.E.W local 262/102 in 1995.  Many of the assignments that Al worked on were in high-rise buildings in Jersey City, as well as the first Senior Citizen high-rise in Plainfield.  Al remembered working on the Rutgers’ Athletic Center, wiring their scoreboard 80 feet in the air.

As an electrical foreman, Al had great memories being on projects throughout his career at Bamberger’s Dept. Store in Plainfield, E.J. Korvette Discount Dept. Store in Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung, and construction of the Bridgewater Commons Mall.

He is predeceased by his parents, Alphonse A. Perrette and Elmira (Parello) Perrette.

Mr. Perrette is survived by his three children; Alphonse J Perrette and his wife Therese, Marisa Eberstadt and her husband Charles, and Janice Sammon; his six grandchildren, Lauren Hessler, Edward Bulkilvish, Christina Gonzalez, Patrick Sammon, Laura Sammon and Nicholas Perrette; one great-grandson, Michael Hessler III.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10AM – 11AM at Higgins Home For Funerals.  A private family interment to follow.
