Obituary of Wesley L. Barrett
Wesley L. Barrett, age 90, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Foot Hill Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hillsborough. He was born in Plainfield and lived in numerous places throughout New Jersey and Florida.
He graduated from the Newark Public School of Fine and Industrial Arts.
Mr. Barrett served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 and was stationed in Germany.
He was a self-employed Industrial Designer.
Mr. Barrett was an artist who worked in several mediums. He was a musician who loved to play the Hammond organ and guitar and was a beautiful singer.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Abbey Barrett.
Surviving are his daughters, Robin Thomson and her husband, Don, and Judy Seidel and her husband, Mike; his stepchildren, Nancy Grant and her husband, Rich, and Jim Blackford and his wife, Sue; his sister, Una Tonneson; his grandchildren, Adam Greco, Chris Greco, Anna Seidel and Leah Seidel; and his step-grandchildren, Lauren, Joe, Lindsay and Katie.
There will be a memorial visitation on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by an 8 p.m. Memorial Service. Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mount Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
