Obituary of Lucy Laura Webster

Lucy Laura (Zienowicz) Webster, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Newark, she had lived in Hillside for over 40 years. Lucy attended Essex County Community College; she received her BA from Seton Hall University and her Master's Degree and PHD from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She was employed by the Irvington Board of Education, where she taught English as a Second Language. She retired at the age of 79, after teaching for over 40 years. She was a member of the First Church of Religious Science now called Center for Spiritual Living Morristown. Lucy enjoyed people and life! She had many varying interests including her beloved book clubs, going to Robert Wood Johnson gym where she started a knitting club, attending Tao group, doing yoga, dancing and swimming (just to name a few, she was rarely home). For many years she would also volunteer at St. Helena during the Christmas season. She loved spending summers in Florida with her family. Predeceased by her husband Richard Edward Webster and her daughter Renee Heiss-Gaydos. Survived by her children Jeffrey Heiss, Wendy Webster, Richard Scott Webster and his wife Rose and Lucy Webster; grandchildren Sydney Heiss, Victoria Gaydos, Jonathan, Jeremy and Emilie Labarre; sister Diana Yannotti and her brother Raymond Zienowicz. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ.
