Warren E. Hoffman, 96, of Warren, N.J. passed away on September 25, 2018.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jean Moore Hoffman, his two daughters, Wendy Hoffman Kroon (and husband Daniel) and Joyce Hoffman Benz (and husband Harold, Jr.), and three granddaughters: Laura Kroon Bush (and husband Nicholas), Julie M. Kroon, and Emily C. Benz. Warren's sisters, Evelyn Hoffman and Loraine Hoffman Brown, are deceased.
Warren received a B.S. degree with honors from Lehigh University at the age of 20, and an M.S. degree from Newark College of Engineering, both degrees in electrical engineering. After graduation, during World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, was assigned to the Signal Corps, and was stationed in Alaska.
After his Army discharge, Warren pursued a lengthy worldwide career, first with E. I. DuPont de Nemours, and later with Mobil Oil Corporation. He will be remembered for his problem solving and operational skills, his attention to detail, and providing and receiving quality workmanship.
Warren was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stirling, and for several years served as Sunday School Treasurer and later as Church Treasurer.
The viewing will be on Monday, October 1st, at Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the First Presbyterian Church of Stirling is suggested.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6th, at the First Presbyterian Church in Stirling.
