Obituary of Sr. Patricia Louise Blostic, SMIC
The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception mourn the loss of their Sister Patricia Blostic, SMIC, who died peacefully on October 3, 2018, at the age of 80 in Mcauley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung, New Jersey.
Sister Pat was born in Cokeburg, Pennsylvania on October 2, 1938 to Michael and Eva Blostic. She is survived by her brothers, William, Richard, Anthony, Charles and Rev. Leonard J Blostic, and her sisters Sr. Eve Blostic and Sr. Wanda Blostic.
Sister Pat entered the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God in 1956 in West Paterson, New Jersey. She attended the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas and earned a Master's degree in Theology and Spirituality.
Sister Pat devoted her missionary work as a chaplain, spiritual directress, and clinical and pastoral educator, sharing her gifts with health and educational institutions in New Jersey and Texas, among them St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Austin State Hospital, Parochial School System in Texas, St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Hackensack Hospital in New Jersey, the Christian Holiday House in Dickinson and the Maranatha House of Prayer in Demarest. She retired in 2000.
Sister Pat wished to be remembered as a religious woman who served her SMIC sisters, her family, and people of all faiths with compassionate spiritual care.
Sister Pat's Wake and Funeral Liturgy will be on Tuesday October 16, 2018, at McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung, NJ, starting at 10:30 am.
Interment will follow in the cemetery of the Missionary Sisters on Rifle Camp Road, Woodland Park, New Jersey.
