David Earl Goodling

David Earl Goodling, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home in Warren. He was born in Elizabeth and raised in Mountainside, resided in Westfield for 25 years and in Warren for the past 25 years.

Prior to his retirement, he was the founder of Newark Mat & Rubber Company, owner of Matco International and the co-owner of Amarco Products in Warren.

David was an avid deep sea fisherman. He also enjoyed boating, hunting and nature. He was a coach for his children's baseball teams. Most of all, he loved being a husband, dad and a granddad.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Flood Goodling; his children, Nicole Goodling-Turczak and her husband, Arian, Brenden Goodling and Hunter Goodling; his grandchildren, Ema Riley Goodling, Bronsten Goodling, Ariana Turczak and Kingston Turczak and his siblings, Linda Christensen, James Goodling and Carol Goodling.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9 am followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church. Interment will be at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery.
