Obituary of Theodore M. Rosenblatt

Theodore Rosenblatt, age 87, died on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Rosenblatt had resided in Holland and Plainfield before moving to Edison over 40 years ago. He received his Bachelors and Master's degree both in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University in NY where he was graduated with honors. Mr. Rosenblatt had served in the United States Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement Mr. Rosenblatt worked for many years as a chemical engineer for Exxon in the research department in Linden NJ. He was member of various professional chemical societies throughout his career. He has been a member of Temple Sholom in Plainfield and Fanwood for fifty years. Mr. Rosenblatt loved going to the theater and reading and in his youth enjoyed playing tennis. He is survived by his wife of 59 and a half years Rhoda (Lifson); two sons Joshua and his wife Laura Schwartz and David and his wife Emily Hess; a daughter Claire Levy and her husband Itzhak. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday January 30, 2014 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ with Rabbi Joel Abraham officiating.
