Obituary of Hilda Romond
Hilda Romond, age 96, passed away on Friday November 2, 2018 at St. Clair’s Hospital in Denville NJ. Born in Boston MA, Hilda had resided in Plainfield for many years before moving to Morris Plains three years ago.
Hilda was a former member of St. Bernard’s RC Church in Plainfield. She enjoyed cooking nutritious meals and was an avid reader. She loved all children especially her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband John Romond in 1976.
Hilda is survived by her three children Jules and his wife Mary, Joanne and her husband James and Frank and his wife Laura; eight grandchildren Jeffrey Romond, Gregory Romond, Rachael Romond, Catherine Howard, James A. Frey Jr., Elizabeth Frey, Jewel Mae Romond and Frank Romond Jr.; seven great grandchildren Ella, Lily, Jaxson, Victoria, Madeline, Nina and Olive. She is also survived by a sister Helen DeMuro and brother Salvatore LaRosa.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07069. The funeral services will begin on Tuesday November 6, 2018 at 9:00 am at Higgins Home for Funerals followed by a 10:00 am funeral Mass at St. Bernard’s RC Church in Plainfield NJ. The interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
