Obituary of Mary Rubinetti

Mary Donna Rubinetti (Ciampa), 94, died Saturday, December 8, 2018, peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 18,1924 in Plainfield, NJ to Nicola and Carmela Ciampa. Mary was the youngest of ten children. She attended Plainfield High School and graduated in 1942. She worked from 1944 to 1954 at the Motor Vehicle Office in Plainfield. She continued to work in the Dunellen Motor Vehicle until 1958. In 1958, she met and married her loving husband, Larry Rubinetti. In 1961, Mary and Larry had their first child, daughter Rosemarie. In 1967, they had their son, Paul. They lived in Plainfield, and eventually settled to North Plainfield in 1967.
In 1989 Mary retired from Muhlenberg Hospital where she worked for nine years. Mary and Larry spent time during the winter months in Bonita Springs, Florida where they met many friends and kept in touch with them for years. Mary's greatest enjoyments in life came with spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved when her grandchildren came over to play with her and Larry, and was fortunate enough to have all six of them live less than ten minutes away. She bought snacks and always welcomed them to dinner with her famous chicken cutlets and meatballs. She always put others before herself. She found the beauty of everyone from within. Hobbies of Mary's included doing crossword puzzles, knitting, and crocheting, and playing cards. She had beautiful script handwriting, and was a fantastic speller and won spelling bees as a young girl. She looked forward to attending Senior Citizens of North Plainfield where she loved to play bingo, and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in North Plainfield, where she was a Rosarian for many years. She was married to her loving husband, Larry, for fifty-nine years.
Predeceased by her husband, Larry, on December 6, 2017, and eight of her nine siblings, Peter, Andrew, Anthony and Grace, Anne, Lucia, Geraldine, Marian, and her surviving sister, Angie. Mary is survived by her daughter Rosemarie Lamperti and her husband, Scott of North Plainfield, and three granddaughters, Lisa, Jessica, and Amanda. Her son Paul, and his wife, Hether of South Plainfield, and three grandsons, Joseph, Vincent, and Matthew.
Visitation will take place at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ on Thursday, December 13th 2018 from 4pm-8pm.
Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9am on Friday, December 14th, followed by a 10 am funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Church, North
