Obituary of Clarissa Leigh Lyons

Clarissa Leigh Lyons, age 28, passed away on Saturday morning January 19, 2019 at her home in Ocean, NJ. 

She was born in Annapolis, MD and lived in Bowie, MD. She later moved to Scotch Plains, NJ where she graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

Clarissa worked for over two years at the Lifetime Fitness Club in Berkeley Heights as a lifeguard. She later went on to work as a manager for Twinbrook Village Apartments.

Clarissa was passionate about nature, a trait that she learned from her father. She also enjoyed music, skiing, traveling and was an avid reader. Clarissa was a loyal friend and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her mother Robin Lyons, Watchung, NJ and father Thomas Lyons, Falls Church, VA; brother Blake Lyons, Brooklyn, NY; grandparents Harriet and Gerald Warner, Somerset, NJ; a loving boyfriend Steve Vitello, Ocean, NJ; and Cheer our Golden Retriever. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 22, 2019 at 1pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ with Rabbi Joel Abraham officiating. Cremation to follow is private.
