Obituary of William C. Rush
William C. Rush, age 73, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away on Saturday 16, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. He was raised in Guttenberg and resided in Hillsborough for many years before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 20 years ago.
Mr. Rush was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He had a diverse career, starting as a police officer and then working in the trucking industry for many years until he earned his US Coast Guard Captains license which allowed him to follow his true calling of being on the water.
He earned a living chartering private fishing boats as well as large party boats. He also worked at a boat dealer for many years helping others share in his passion for fishing boating. Even after retiring, he found himself helping friends in the boating industry at every opportunity.
What brought Mr. Rush the most joy was his grandchildren and children. He is survived by his son, William Rush, and his wife, Chris; his daughter, Sheri Cohen, and her husband, Robert; and five grandchildren, Justin Rush, Eric Rush, Meghan Cohen, Jake Cohen and Emily Rush.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, New Jersey 07069. A private burial will be at Crest Haven in Clifton, New Jersey.
