Mr. Schifano was one of the nicest people ever. As a child & young person, attending Blessed Sacrament Church Masses, Mr. Schifano was there with a big smile for us kids. He and his wife, Ellie, were always kind and helpful and generous with their faith in God. Mr. Schifano was the Eucharistic Minister, who came to the then Somerset Medical Center to pray and serve Catholic patients. When my Mom, Claire Balent, became gravely ill, it was Mr. Schifano who would come to pray with her and administer the Eucharist. He gave her peace. She always looked forward to seeing him.... he was a fond reminder of Blessed Sacrament Church, and he understood Mom’s devotion to her faith. My family will forever be grateful to him for the respect and care he showed to our Mom. Rest In Peace, Mr. Schifano. Mrs. Schifano is waiting to greet you.

Frank was an amazing man and a friend to the end of his life. He and my father, Dominic, were childhood friends and remained so. Frank and his lovely wife were the two kindest people you will ever meet! I spoke with Frank monthly and I will miss those calls! I know that he is in Heaven joining Ellie. I hope my Dad was there with St.Peter welcoming him!! Rest In Peace my dear friend! I send you my love!

I was very sorry to hear of Frank's passing. Frank was a wonderful person and a friend for many years and was a great help to me when my husband Al Eichkorn was diagnosed with cancer. I will never forget our trips to New York for Al's doctor visits and our lunches together. He was a blessing to so many people.

Frank’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

My earliest recollection of Frank was in the 1980's when he and Bill Sheets were part of the Notes of Love Guitar Group family. They came early every sunday as we tuned our guitars and voices, and set up just the number of chairs that were needed.
For years he and Ellie were youth group advisors. Where Frank was there was Ellie. She was also his companion as a Eucharistic Minister at the hospital on Thursdays.
Frank served many committees in Blessed Sacrament including the the decoration committee where he and others purchased the live Christmas trees and strung lights on them. How many remember his climbing up on a giant ladder to hang the white curtain for the Holy Thursday repository. If I am not mistaken he also drove the van for Michael Bruce.
No doubt that Frank served in the name of the Lord. I am sure the Lord greeted him "Welcome good and faithful servant."

I had the pleasure of getting to know Frank while visiting my Mom, Lillian Minch at Parker at Somerset. Frank was a very nice man and we talked about the Yankees whenever I visited. He will be deeply missed by my Mom and the other residents.

To Joe and all his family members/friends and Frank’s extended family at Blessed Sacrament,
All of us has this feeling of loss in the person of Frank — but at the same time we are feeling peace in our hearts that his long suffering journey has ended and prayerfully heaven is rejoicing as he joins his wife. My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to all who knew and loved him. As for me personally, I was given the gift / blessing of his being a part of my life and I thank God for that. RIP, my dear friend. Rita
