Obituary of Neil M. McHugh

Neil M. McHugh, age 83, died on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Aston Gardens in Tampa, FL. Born in Troy, NY he lived in Schenectady, NY, and Jersey City, NJ before moving to Bridgewater, NJ. Neil was a veteran of the United States Army. He received his undergraduate degree in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, NY and a Masters in Chemical Engineering from NJ Institute of Technology. Neil was a Chemical Engineer by trade. He joined Colgate-Palmolive in 1956 and held various positions while traveling the world until his retirement in 1996, his last position was Global Head of Product Packaging. Neil was a communicant at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. He was a lifelong Yankee fan, an avid bird watcher and lover of Irish music. Predeceased by his parents James and Helen (Moore) McHugh – his sister Margaret "Peggy" McHugh and his daughter Karen Ann McHugh. Survived by his loving wife Helen F. McHugh; children Elise Kerrie McHugh and Neil Colin McHugh and his wife Dianna; grandchildren Marley Doboszenski, Kaia Doboszenski, Kaitlin McHugh, Colin McHugh and Margaret G McHugh; nieces Lisa Fuchilla and Lori Lim; and nephew John Stevens. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville.
