Obituary of Rocco Freda
Rocco (Rocky) Freda, age 85, passed away on Sunday May 12, 2019, at The Chelsea in Warren, with his beloved family beside him. Born and raised in Madison, NJ he had resided in Martinsville since 1972.
Rocco honorably served his country with the Air Force as a 1st Lt. from 1955-1957. He graduated from Newark College of Engineering with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Rocco retired as an engineer and worked in sales for SDS Consulting for 10 years in New York City.
Rocco was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, fishing and golf, but mostly being with his family came first.
Predeceased by his parents Peter and Frieda Freda and his sister Rosalie Davis.
Survived by his loving wife Nancy Freda; children Peter Freda and his wife Maureen and Nancy Lenahan and her husband Tom; grandchildren Sean and Matthew Lenahan and Emily and Abigail Freda; Sisters Marie Sapio and her husband Nick and Anne Lawless and her husband Joseph.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral gathering will be held on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Martinsville. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
