Obituary of Maria Antonia Furchi

Maria Antonia Furchi, age 79, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019, at her home in Warren.  Born in Brattiro, Italy she had resided in Newark and spent most of her life in Edison before recently moving to Warren.

Prior to retiring Maria worked in Housekeeping for JFK Hartwyck in Edison.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Highland Park.  Maria enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband Domenico Furchi and her brothers Antonio and Giuseppe Speranza.

Survived by her daughter Donna Marie Cakirdas and her husband Aleksan; grandchildren Aydin, Alessio and Sofia; siblings Pasquale Speranza and Caterina Speranza; sister -in-law Elizabeth Cimino and brother- in-law Antonio Furchi; many nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Stony Hill Church, Watchung.  Entombment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, NJ.
