Obituary of Ellen Borzelli
Ellen Borzelli, age 71, passed away on May 11, 2019 at her home in Laguna Hills, CA. She was born in Ridgewood Queens in New York City and lived in the towns of Fanwood, Bridgewater and Summit in New Jersey for most of her life before moving to California.
Ellen received her BA from the College of New Rochelle. She also earned a Masters in Education.
Prior to her first marriage, she taught elementary school in Delaware.
She was very active in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District PTA as well as the Newcomers Club in Bridgewater.
With her husband Rich, she loved to travel the world including taking trips to Antarctica, Galapagos Islands, Europe and Africa. In all of their travels, Ellen and Rich visited all 7 continents.
Ellen loved birding, travel, cooking and most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her 5 grandchildren.
Ellen is predeceased by her husband, Richard Borzelli in 2018.
Surviving are her children, Christopher O’Hara and his wife, Kimberly, Brendan O’Hara, Brandon Borzelli and his wife, Patti and Brett Borzelli; her grandchildren, Camryn O’Hara, Madeline O’Hara, Allie Borzelli, Avery Borzelli and Jake Borzelli. She is also survived by her sister, Deborah Greene.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12 noon at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Church, Southold, Long Island followed by interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Long Island.
