Obituary of Jeanette Greenberg
Jeanette Greenberg, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 at Regents Park Trustbridge Hospice in Boca Raton, Florida.
Jeanette was born and raised in Manhattan, where she attended the City College of New York. She and husband Sidney met during a dance at the Roosevelt Hotel in 1946. They resided in Queens, where she worked as a homemaker, raising their two children with her husband. After Karen and Gerald were grown, Jeanette found employment at Allmack Plastics as a Credit Manager.
Jeanette was an avid scrabble player and loved to do the New York Times Crossword puzzle. She was a puzzle book enthusiast, going on to found a Scrabble Club at the Century Village in Boca Raton. She also loved to dance, and regularly attended the dances at Century Village. She was well liked by her peers and was known for always having a smile. She will be missed by her son and the many people she brought joy to in her life.
Jeanette was pre-deceased by her husband Sidney, who passed away in 1993, her daughter Karen, who passed away in 1977, her long-term companion George, who passed away in 1999, and long-term companion Zelig, who passed away in 2005.
She is survived by her loving son, Gerald Greenberg, her niece Susan Buckwald and cousin Janice Berliner.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ 07069 on Tuesday June 25th, 2019 at 11:30am followed by a graveside service at Hebrew Cemetery of Samptown.
