I apologize that I didn't know what happened and missed the services. Eddie will certainly be missed by us. He touched many lives and certainly touched ours. He was a wonderful neighbor who was always watching out for us. I will always remember Eddie driving his truck, smiling and smoking a cigar, pulling up along side me to stop and chat. Our prayers go out to Eddie and his family.

It's been quite some time for me. I moved to NC in 89 and lost touch with many I grew up with. This past year has been a tough one with the lose of several family members, one being my Dad. The phone call from Joe, telling me about Eddie's passing, was shocking and terribly sad.
I like the train analogy. I have many memories from back in Mountainside. If there's one constant, it's Eddie's smile and his laugh. I'm not sure which was larger, his physical size or his heart. I believe it was his heart. Rest in the peace of the Lord Eddie.
My thoughts and prayers are for you Eddie, as well as your family and loved ones.

I was so saddened when I heard of Ed's passing. He was such a great person and a huge part of my life when I was just dating Steve (Bell). I have so many fond memories of Ed and was very thankful for all the training and help he gave to Steve. I remember Ed at our wedding and how happy he was (and drunk).
My heart goes out to all of you....
Sincerely,
Jodie Bell

In 1999 I went into Colline Brothers for an interview with you and the jokes started that day. You all became more than just employers to me over the next 10 years. I still remember how nervous I was when I went to tell you I was leaving for a job with the government. You told me "I love you Tone and I'm happy for you. The new job will be better for your family and give you a pension, why wouldn't I want that for you?". I love you that, man. I miss my Colline Brothers family and I am sorry for your loss.

My TREASURED friend there are no words I can speak there are only tears running down my face for the loss I feel.
It’s been a long, long time since we enjoyed each others company BUT
ED 30 years ago you gave me a job. You took me under your wing and gave me a purpose the best job and time I ever had.
I saw magic you were a safe magician and a mechanical genius. I was there when you opened safes like people butter toast. I witnessed mechanical genius as I was in the presence of not a man but a legend!
Eddie, I will miss you.
Ed you imprinted something on my SOUL as a man a friend and person that is overwhelmed by my tears and sadness.
All those mornings we spent having coffee at my moms house talking.
Atlantic City, the women, the bars, etc.
But Big Guy most of all we sat in the upstairs office and the office back porch smoking cigars. A man and me a student!
Big Guy, my tears will never stop, you were my HERO.
On a good note tell Charlie I said hi and crap Ann is ahead of you to meet God .
PS: If you can in a dream give me the pick 6 numbers .

I am very sorry to hear the bad news that Ed passed away. I met Ed about 15 years ago at Bridgewater diner while one day all the waitresses at that time were around him, about 5-5.30 pm before dinner rush started, and I say to myself who’s this guy with all those young ladies (waitresses) there laughing and having a good time with? (Ed was always sitting on the first stool by the kitchen door.) So I went there to see who this guy was and I see a middle aged...ugly...gentlemen and we introduced ourselves. Since that day we became buddies and he was the only customer at the Bridgewater Diner that all the waitresses wanted to serve because of his kindness. It was a great pleasure knowing Ed, a very giving person. Rest In Peace, Ed.

I met Ed while working at Maffey's Lock & Safe Co. Back in 1977. He was a great friend to me right off the bat. I've always loved and respected him and his smart aleck sense of humor. I messed up my very first ever deadbolt installation and he coined me " The Butcher". Whenever I had a question about drilling open a safe all these years later, he was always there for me to advise me where to drill or how to manipulate the safe opening. I will miss him. RIP Ed.

"The Train of Life"...Life is like a journey on a train..with its stations..with changes of routes and with accidents! At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant, siblings, friends, children and even the love of our life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don't realize that they vacated their seats. This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all the passengers...requiring that we give the best of ourselves. The mystery to everyone is; we do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way-love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty-we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel the train of life. I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life. Reap success and give lots of love. More importantly, give thanks for the journey! Lastly, I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train!
Eddie,
Thank you for the wonderful memories which I will always cherish and never forget. The void you have left can never be filled. You are my best friend and always will be. Goodbye for now until I see you again.
Love, Angel
