Obituary of Elizabeth Wojtech
Elizabeth Wojtech, 89, a longtime resident of North Plainfield,passed away in her sleep with her children by her side, in her home, on July 19,2019. She was a strong woman who had an eight year battle with dementia. She was born in Kearny to William and Marie Aug. Her husband Ralph passed in 2004.
Elizabeth went by the name Betty. She graduated from Newark State College(Kean College) with a degree in teaching.. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade at Kennedy School in South Plainfield, retiring in 1994. She was loved by her students and was requested as a teacher by many. She was a member of the Lydia Chapter of Eastern Star, and served as Grand Worthy Matron of New Jersey for 2 Years. She was also a member of the Fanwood Womens club.
Betty loved her sweets, her favorite one being the cream inside a Devil Dog. She enjoyed watching and reading mysteries, James Bond and Sherlock Holmes were her favorites. She loved playing cards. She preferred to eat out over cooking. Betty had a love for dogs, she always had one, two or even three at a time. She also collected angels and unicorns.
Elizabeth was the proud mother of her 2 sons Ralph and his wife Xianhui, William and his wife Lori. Her greatest joy was her 5 grandchildren Max, Lizabeth, William Jr, and twins Elizabeth and Caleigh. She was loving cared for by Dolly since 2012. She is also survived by her sister in law Marilyn Ford and her nieces Donna and Wendy.
