Obituary of Louise M. Cooney

Louise M. Cooney, age 86, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Jersey City, she moved to Warren in 1967, where they raised two children and two Beagles. Louise and her late husband Christopher started Cooney Electrical together in 1953. Prior to that she worked at Ballantine Brewery in Newark as a secretary. Louise was a former member of Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren, where she taught religious education. She was an active member of the PTO and was a past president. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach. Her true joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Christopher in 2015. Survived by her sons Christopher and his wife Catherine and George and his wife Lee; grandchildren Catherine, Carrisa, Warren and Samantha; her sister Jennie Aurelio and her husband Emilio. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung.
