Obituary of Debra Tremarco
Debra Tremarco, age 65, passed away on August 8, 2019 at her home in Millington, NJ. Born Debra Jane Nelson on June 23, 1954, Debra grew up in Union, NJ before marrying her husband, Anthony Tremarco of Hillside, NJ on October 23, 1977. Debra worked as a Secretary of Special Services at the Long Hill Township School District for 19 years before retiring in 2015.
A loving wife and proud mother, Debra's greatest joy came from being surrounded by her close friends and family. Hosting 30+ people for Sunday dinner and holidays was second nature to her. Known to cut a rug on the dance floor, her passion for life was contagious. A self-proclaimed worrier, Debra would always put the needs of others before her own. By constantly facing life's challenges with grace, she will be remembered for her undeniable strength and courage. Her most precious gift was being a "Nonna" to her two grandchildren, Joseph and Valentina. She will be greatly missed by all.
Debra is predeceased by her son, Joseph Tremarco and her mother, Carole Nelson.
Surviving are her husband, Anthony Tremarco; her sons Anthony Tremarco and his wife, Cynthia, and Ryan Tremarco; and her grandchildren Joseph and Valentina Tremarco. She is also survived by her father Raymond Nelson; her sister Jane Lloyd and her husband, John; and her brothers Raymond and his wife, Lisa, and Robert and his wife, Susan; and her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 2-6 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 8:30 at the funeral home with a funeral mass to follow at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 250 Bebout Avenue, Stirling, NJ. Interment will be private at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield at another date.
