Obituary of Dorothy A. Pennino

Dorothy A. Pennino, 87, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Basking Ridge, NJ.

Dorothy was born on August 22, 1931 in Bronx, NY, to her late parents were Peter and Margaret Zimmermann. Dorothy was raised in Boonton, NJ and graduated from Boonton High School. She worked for Bell Telephone prior to marriage to Louis Pennino in 1952.

Thereafter, she was a devoted housewife focused on raising her four children in New Providence, NJ till 1977. They moved to Warren Township where Dorothy obtained her Associates Degree in cosmetology. They then moved to Phoenix Arizona for a short time and retired in Prescott Valley AZ, until the passing of Louis in 1993. Dorothy finished her years working for Greystone Psychiatric Hospital.

Dorothy leaves behind her daughter Debra Monzo and son-in-law Justin and her two granddaughters Alexis Monzo and Stephanie (Nick) Majeska, her son Kenneth Pennino, her daughter Sandra Pennino-Farnham and son-in-law Justin and grandsons Justin and Jason Farnham, her son Michael Pennino and her grandson's Michael and Nicholas Pennino and her sister Barbara Gurthie of Boonton, NJ.

Dorothy greatest gift towards the end of her life was her precious “Louis,” her 6 year old great grandson son of her granddaughter Alexis.

Information on her Memorial Service will be sent out to family and friends for Sunday, December 22, 2019 to celebrate her life.
