Obituary of Marie Petralia
Marie Petralia, age 67, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Overlook Hospital. Marie was born, raised and resided in Elizabeth, NJ until 1980 when she moved to Maplewood, NJ. She lived in Maplewood until 2014 when she moved to Raritan, NJ.
Marie worked in accounts payable for Prudential Life Insurance in Newark for 22 years and then worked in accounts payable for Barneys, NY in Lyndhurst, NJ for 24 years.
Marie will always be remembered for being the biggest NY Mets fan. She was genuinely passionate about them and enjoyed supporting the team throughout her life.
Marie is predeceased by her brother Anthony Petralia, Jr. and her father, Anthony Petralia, Sr.
She is survived by her mother Josephine Petralia; her sister Linda Burkly and her husband Jim; her niece Vanessa Burkly; and her nephew Michael Burkly.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funeral, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, 08836. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, in Colonia, NJ.
Memorial donation may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
