Obituary of Peter L. Pagano, Sr.

Peter L. Pagano, Sr., age 90, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019, at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born and raised in Matawan, he had resided in Newark before moving to Gillette 56 years ago. Peter served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War. He was a mechanic at Ted's Friendly Texaco Service Station in Piscataway for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed dancing and watching sports especially pro basketball, the Dallas Cowboys and the NY Yankees. Predeceased by his wife Carmela Pagano in 2000, his 3 siblings Joseph, John and Angela. Survived by his children Peter L. Pagano, Jr. and his wife Cathleen and Rosanne Beer and her husband Kenneth; 4 grandchildren Christopher M. Pagano and his wife Amanda, Matthew T. Pagano, David K. Beer and Brittany Anne Beer and her fiance Brandon Conners; great-grandson Dawson and dear friend Josephine Rizzo. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul RC Church, Stirling. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
