Lori Walsh

Obituary of Lori Walsh

Lori Walsh, age 35 of Madison, NJ passed away August 16, 2019 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey after a courageous 6-month long battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

Born in Livingston and raised in Warren, NJ, Lori also resided in Hawaii and Hoboken before moving to Madison in 2016 with the love of her life and husband, Kevin.

Lori graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY with a B.A. in Psychology (2006) and Master of Arts in Educational Psychology (2008).

Lori went on to be a teacher with a love for special education and taught in Hawaii and various school districts in New Jersey. She later became a self-employed private tutor.

Lori was the life of any party, always made friends anywhere she went, and loved meeting people from all walks of life. She would never turn down an opportunity to be involved in any game, crossword match, or jigsaw puzzle and challenged anyone to contest her. Lori always said meeting and marrying Kevin changed her world in a way that most people would not understand and is hard to put into words. She also cherished her time with family and friends, especially spending time with and watching her nieces Avalyn and Hallie grow up. She loved the beach and couldn’t get enough time bathing in the sun. Lori also enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Long Beach Island and Cape Cod and anywhere else with sun, sand, and a cold drink in her hand.

Lori always looked at life in the most positive light and felt fortunate to have done more living in her 35 years than most people do in their entire lives. She loved to travel and always talked about how fortunate she was to live in Hawaii and travel all over the world including Indonesia, Central America, Europe, and all over the United States.

She is pre-deceased by her father, Robert Mandetta in 2013 and is survived by her loving husband, Kevin T. Walsh Jr., her beloved mother, Donna Mandetta, her father-in-law, Kevin T. Walsh (Betsy), her brothers, Mark (Julie) and Bobby, as well as four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, four nieces and two nephews. She will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitations will be held Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, August 19, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.
