Obituary of Raymond Stephen Molnar

Raymond Molnar, age 84 , passed away on Saturday February 22, 2014 at his home in Warren surrounded by his loving family. Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Molnar had resided in Cranford and Berkeley Heights before moving to Warren 17 years ago. Mr. Molnar had received his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange NJ. He is a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement Mr. Molnar worked with the Catholic Charities in Newark as a director for 42 years. He worked for 22 years in the youth department and 20 years with the retired senior's volunteer services. He served on the Township Commitee of Cranford for four years from 1976 to 1980 and was mayor from 1979 to 1980. He is an active member of St. Mary's Stony Hill RC Church in Watchung and a member of the People of Hope, a Catholic Covenant Community in Central NJ. He loved working with youth and during his retirement had volunteered his time to teach students wood working skills at Koinonia Academy in Plainfield, NJ. He enjoyed all of life's blessings especially the outdoors and gardening but most of all he enjoyed celebrating annual family reunions with his large family and numerous other family events. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Rose (D'Imperio) Molnar; four sons Stephen Molnar of FL, William Molnar and his wife Lynn of NC, Ben Molnar and his wifeMary Margaret of Warren and James Molnar and his wife Anne of Basking Ridge; three daughters Marybeth Quense and her husband John of Warren, Barbara Wessel and her husband Jim of Berkeley Heights and Jane Apuzzo and her husband Mike of Long Hill, forty two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews and many extended family and loving friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Friday February 28, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church in Watchung followed a burial at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery in Watchung.
