Dearest Karen and family:
My memories of Michael go back many years as Karen and Mike would join me on Garfield street whenever there were fireworks at mt.Carmel Field, especially the "big ones" on July 16th where we all gathered in front of my house and were totally emersed in their beauty.
Those were fun times and mike's total enjoyment on these occasions will be missed.
Karen, we know where your strength comes from - so sorry u have had to go thru so much in your young life.
All my love, Betty brauss

I'll always remember the first time Uncle Mike invited me out to a family dinner at Arthur's Steakhouse - great food, even better company. Big love for this guy and he will certainly be missed <3

Dear Karen and family,
Words are so inadequate at a time like this, but I have to tell you of my joy in memories of growing up knowing Mike and the love for his family; this has always been close in my heart & never far from my mind. I know that Gram (Aunt Helen to him) is there dancing around with him as she did with us as kids, when we thought we were going to be in trouble.
You are all in my prayers, God bless you and hold you closely.
Love, Marilee and Don

So sorry for all of your loss, too young to lose. Many great memories of growing up and living at the Bassillo family house through childhood and teen age years. My heart goes out to the entire family.

Karen, I am so sorry for the loss of Michael. So glad he was able to make it to the office last year. He was always so up beat, and made other people feel better in his presence (put simple he was a character)!

I will always remember by brother in Christ, Michael Bassillo for his love of learning new things, fresh delicious food and his family. He extended that love to anyone who entered his home. From welcoming hugs to epic prayers at his dinner table, he showed me what it was to muscle through life until he couldn’t anymore. The prayer of Rest In Peace has never been more heartfelt.

So many things to say and not enough room to say them. We all know he had his flaws and vices but at his core he was a good man and it showed through with how he loved and took care of people.
I think my favorite memory of Uncle Mike is when we stayed with you guys for a month cause our apartment had no utilities thanks to hurricane Sandy. Every morning he'd make French pressed coffee and we'd plan out the day. We drove to PA to get gas and groceries (cause it was easier than waiting in line in NJ). And then towards the end of our stay we went strawberry picking and we picked the whole patch! He would always come up to me and say, we gotta do that again!
He and the family we're also the first to love and accept my Chris into the family...to the point where I sometimes feel the love Chris more than me and that makes me so happy and realize he and the family are one of a kind and will always have a place in my life and heart.
Until I see you again Uncle Mike, I'll be pranking the first person to fall asleep in your honor! Xoxo
