I lived across the street from Doris and her family and was a good friend of her daughter Diane during that time. Actually the Dresdales were quite a family in themselves, but the leader of the family was Doris and they were quite well led.
Doris had an eye like a hawk for what was going on in life and was protective like a lioness for her cubs. She was both fierce and kind and could take a lot of ribbing from her children and husband who loved to joke. She was an intellectual but more than that, she was wise. I remember her saying to Diane and myself “seek and ye shall find” from the Old Testament when we were doing homework together and we were stuck in our understanding on a topic. She found the perfect referral for a therapist to give to my mother when I needed help understanding myself as a young adult. The experience of psychotherapy was so effective for me, that I chose the profession for myself. So here’s a toast to the well lived life of Doris Dresdale.What a person!
