Dear Grace, Liz & Rob,
Our deepest condolences to all of you. It is with a heavy heart that I am doing this Tribute for your mother. Dra as we call her, has always been part of my family. I have always looked up to her and have loved her. Next to our Lord and Mother Mary, I owe to her the added 10 years of Bernie's life. Bernie underwent emergency triple cardiac bypass surgery at the U of R, Strong Memorial Hospital upon the insistence of Dra to have Bernie see a cardiologist. He was diagnosed to have 99%/97% blockage of both Coronary arteries. In Dra's amazing kindheartednesss and understanding she even had me and my daughter and son stay at her house while Bernie was undergoing the procedure. I just delivered my son 3 weeks prior, at Strong Memorial Hospital where she was a Professor in Pharmacology and I was doing my training in OB-GYN. Needless to say, this brought us much closer to each other. Dra loved my Leah like her granddaughter. Leah remembers her and is deeply saddened too by her passing. Your mother will always be in my thoughts and prayers and will include her name in our weekly Rosary prayers for the repose of her soul. May she rest in peace and the Perpetual light shine upon her. Hi Grace!
I just wanted to tell you how deeply sorry I am for the loss of your Mom. Doctora Calimlim was such a great friend to my Mama.
She was such a great lady who was always so full of life. I always admired her strength, intelligence and sense of humor. It was always such a pleasure for me to spend time with her and your Dad. She was always one of my favorite “aunties”.
I can’t imagine the grief that you are going through. I know that I would be a wreck if I lost my Mama. Know that you, Liz and Robert are in my thoughts. Sending you lots of Love and Light.
Much love,
Dinah

Hi Tita Grace,
Mom told me what happened; I'm so deeply, deeply sorry for your loss. Your mother was a beautiful woman, inside and out, radiating an incredibly warm, lovely light at all times. She brightened any room with her presence, and I always felt at peace around her. I know she will be very much missed by so many people.
You and your family are in my heart, thoughts, and prayers, very much so. Sending you all the love possible, and I'm always here for you.

My Other Mother
She was a beautiful lady
With sparkling twinkling eyes
Her laugh was so contagious
She had a sweet sweet smile
Her hair was just so perfect
She embraced me like a daughter
And loved my children too
A grandma you can count on
Oh how I would miss you
But I know God has called you
To be in heaven with dad
I love you with all my heart
I called you mommy
Thank you so much for being
My other mother

To Naty and Gary
Please accept our deepest condolences for the passing of your beloved sister, Leonor. She was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. She would light up a room with her demure but bubbly demeanor and twinkling eyes. I will always remember her for her infectious smile. She simply had a sense of happiness about her —she was always happy. She was hospitable, too. Once I was in their house in Penfield, she fed me lunch - the best chicken caldereta I ever tasted. I raved about it, and so she taught me how to cook it. It is still my go-to recipe for that dish.
We will certainly pray for the repose of Leonor’s soul and for comfort, peace and consolation for you, Gary and her family in this time of great loss. Eternal rest grant unto Leonor, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Leonor will surely be missed by many, whether they knew her for a long time or even just an hour.
God blessC

Our dearest Tita Leony,
It is with a heavy heart to see you go.
The times we spent together were few but they were very special and we will cherish them forever.
On behalf of my sisters Nanette, Bess and Marie, we dedicate to you this poem that we love specially when we think of your sisters, our Mom (Julie) and Ninang (Tita):
We thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that too,
We think of you in silence
We often speak your name
All we have are memories
And your picture in a frame
Your memory are our keepsake
With which we’ll never part
God has you in His keeping
We have you in our hearts
We love you forever Tita Leony ❤️❤️❤️

My deepest condolence to Tita Leonor’s beloved family; my very best friend, Grace, and Mike, Liz, Robert & Carol, Robert Jr. and Christine. Tita Leonor’s life of utmost brilliance, elegance, dignity, generosity, kindness, love, and total devotion to her family was a blessing to those who loved and knew her. I have known Tita Leonor since I was an adventurous teenager. She may have lost many hours of sleep over my friendship with her daughter those many years ago. And now, I am a happy grandmother, so in love with my granddaughter. I learned so much from her. I, too, will feel this ache of losing her. She will always be in my heart; this bright light who showed me the way. As I have told
Tita Leonor throughout the years, “I want to be just like you when I grow up.”

Leony, my sister, was the oldest among the siblings in my family. Her passing away was devastating to me as she was the last of my siblings with whom I could confide, consult, and ask for advice. It was so nice to have a sister who was a doctor because when I didn't feel well or have some pains in my body, I could always count on her to help me. She was very thoughtful, generous, and kind. Leony was one of the bright minds in my family. She was a good sister, wife, and an extraordinary mother.
As her brother-in-law, Leony always was welcoming and extremely hospitable to me. I will remember her playing the piano and seeing the great joy and twinkle in her eyes when she played. I found her to be a very serious person, but also a person with a wonderful sense of humor.
We love her, we will always pray for her, and we will miss her very much.

Dr Leonor Rivera Calimlim was my Professor in Pharmacology at the University of Santo Tomas Medical School in Manila Philippines in the 50’S. She was a caring person quite Knowledgeable in her field of specialty. In the 80’S, I had a chance to meet her in Rochester NY through the various activities sponsored by the local Filipino community. She was then Professor at the University of Rochester Medical School. I thought she was Ageless !

Dear Grace,
I was saddened to learn about your mother’s death. She was fortunate to have been with you at the end of her long and rich life. Leonor was on the faculty in Pharmacology when I joined the department in 1975. She taught me a ton about clinical pharmacology and I am tremendously grateful for her help. I particularly enjoyed teaching in her popular course for nursing students in my early years. Leonor always sat through the lectures and provided valuable feedback. Because one of the topics I covered was birth control, she and I also enjoyed many laughs over some of the questions I got in class. These questions often began with “I have a friend who wants to know…” and every year I was asked “do birth control pills work the first month you take them?”. I had no idea what the answer was then and I have no idea now, but I always said that one shouldn’t count on it. My husband recalls teaching your brother in an undergraduate molecular biology course. I hope your family is doing well and will enjoy happy memories of Leonor in the coming weeks. Please share my condolences with them.
