Obituary of Tina Helen Walter

Matina Helen Walter, age 55 passed away on Monday December 30, 2019 at Morristown Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Matina had grown up in Union and has resided in Warren for the past 20 years. Matina is a graduate of Union High School and during her years there she was a serious competitor in gymnastics. Her specialty was the balance beam. Matina received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and later went on to earn her master’s degree in physical therapy from Northwestern University in 1993. Matina began her career in physical therapy at Multi-Specialty in Short Hills, an outpatient sports and orthopedic facility. She worked with many professional athletes including some hockey players from the NJ Devils. Matina put her physical therapy work to the side for her most rewarding job; raising her two sons Cameron and Evan. Matina was very involved in her children’s lives, she was an active member of the PTO at Mt. Horeb School and Warren Middle School. She loved decorating for the holidays and spending time with her family. Matina also loved being at the beach and enjoyed water skiing. She is predeceased by her parents Constantine and Deborah Bouboulis. Matina is survived by her loving husband of 19 years Frederick “Rick” Walter; two sons Cameron and Evan; a sister Dora Bouboulis and a brother Joseph Bouboulis and her dog Stanley. She will be missed by a host of extended family and many loving friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday January 6, 2020 at from 4pm to 8pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07069. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
