Obituary of Marlene A Schmidt

Marlene Schmidt, age 81, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ. She was born in Newark, raised in Irvington, lived in Scotch Plains and resided in Edison since 1972. Mrs. Schmidt attended Katharine Gibbs School after graduating from high school. She worked as a clerical worker for AT&T in Piscataway, NJ for many years, retiring in 1995. She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time at the shore and with her girlfriends in their “girls club,” but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Schmidt is predeceased by her loving husband Allen Schmidt and her dear son David Schmidt. She is survived by her son, John Schmidt and his wife Paula; her daughter, Suzanne Bakaletz and her husband Paul; and her six grandchildren, Graham, Ben, Sam, Max, Allison and Natalie. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Higgins Home For Funerals at 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
