Obituary of Ghanem Ghanem

Mikey Ghanem Ghanem, 71, died peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson Somerville at 4:07pm surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on August 15, 1948 in Ramallah to Issa and Nabiha Ghanem Rizkallah. He was the oldest living brother of 8 children, 7 boys and 1 girl; Nybil, Nadia, Elias, George, Usama,Joseph, Bassam. Mikey married Mona Naser on October 15,1979 and they shared 5 children together. Mikey was known as an expert in the field of carpet installation and custom design and he took great pride in carrying this title all his life. Mikey loved people, he had a warm heart and loving personality. He loved to give more than receive. Mikey really lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, playing cards, chess and buying suits to match his Cadillac's and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He is survived by his beloved wife Mona, his Children; Marian, Rima, Christy, & (Charlie & Justin in spirit) as well as his beloved grandchildren Melany, Amber, Madison, Jordan and Sofia. Beloved Sister Nadia & Brother's Elias, Usama, Bassam and Joey, and their spouses as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family, friends and those whose lives Mikey has touched are invited to Higgins Funeral Home 752 Mountain Avenue Watchung, N.J. On Thursday January 30, 2020 between 9:00 am- 11:00 am. Thereafter, service will be held at St. Stephens the Protomartyr Antiochian Orthodox Church at 12pm at 609 Lane Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery 1401 Woodland Avenue Scotch Plains, N.J.
