Obituary of Barbara Ann Colantuono
Barbara Ann Colantuono passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, February, 4, 2020, at the age of 82.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, Barbara grew up nearby in North Arlington. But she loved Harrison the best, where she enjoyed visiting her grandmother and visiting her favorite places, like Pechter’s Bakery and Welbodlt’s soda shop.
She graduated from Mount Saint Dominic Academy in Caldwell, and she was the valedictorian of her class. She had a sharp mind and a surprising wit, and she often used to brag that the only day of high school she ever missed was when she mistakenly thought it was a snow day.
Throughout her life, she found the most joy in spending time with her family, hanging out at her house on Long Beach Island during the summer, and beating people at games like mahjong and Scrabble.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank Colantuono, whom she met working at Admiral in the 1950s. They were married in 1961.
She is survived by her three children that include her daughter, Cindy; her two sons, Daniel and Michael, and their wives, Tracy and Sarah; her brother, Stanley Moczydlowski, and his wife, Kathy; and her eight grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Frank, Mike, Gillian, Olivia, Matt, and Allison.
