Valerie Walters posted a condolence

I remember I was about 6 or 7 years old living in Jersey City during the summer. Uncle Richie & the family picked me up in the navy blue station wagon which had air conditioning, very impressive in those days, put me in the back with my cousins & we went to Aunt Nettie's house to visit our cousins & use the pool. Despite all his attempts, Curtis couldn't drown me. LOL!! I'll miss Uncle Richie very much. Valerie Walters
I remember the first time I met Valerie's family at an Oktoberfest Uncle Richie made me feel right at home. I was very intrigued to hear his stories about being in Iran for a year & his work at AT&T. At the time I was servicing Security Robots for Shopping Malls. He was so interested in hearing about this & how the Robots worked & how I serviced them. I remember him telling me how he loved to learn new things. I'll miss him. Andre Dias

Richard (grandpa) was a great person, smart, honest, full of integrity and honor. He motivated me to chase my dreams, to live my life my way and do what ever makes me happy. He accepted me for me and the choices I made in my life. He will live forever in my heart. I am so Lucky to have learned from him, and be loved by him. I will always remember our walks at Liberty State Park and our trips to Jersey City! The most important thing that I learned from him was his wisdom, knowledge and life experiences. He always wanted me to aim high, to keep learning, keep growing and keep evolving. He always wished me happy health, wealth and prosperity. He was very religious and every night he prayed for me and my family. I am so grateful and thankful to have been given the opportunity to be his granddaughter! Love you grandpa! I'll think about you, and miss you until we meet again.

He was the first person I called when I had good news to share....and the first one to tell me I could do it when I doubted myself.
A once in a lifetime gem of a man....they don't make them like him anymore. Forever in all our hearts. May he rest in peace. Prayers & condolences for the family and all that knew and adored him. God Bless

My grandfather was the rock in my life. He is the best person I’ve ever known. Not only did he and my grandmother provide the best childhood, they are the beacon of light of my life. Decades of laughter, love and dedication to family.
