I first met Jean in 2000, when I came to NPHS to teach. She was the secretary to the science department. Jean was a joy to know & always helpful & cheerful. She talked about retiring then & was still talking about it , when I retired in March, 2015. Then I heard that she retired finally a few months later. Always enjoyed telling her any Irish jokes that I had heard. Shall never forget that I was walking down the hallway at NPHS on September 11, 2001, when I met Jean who was crying. She told me that she had just heard that we were attacked & the World Trade center building had come down. I tried to reassure her, but was uneasy myself.
Always welcoming, I can cheerfully remember her often. May she rest in peace with the Lord.
R. Craig Kammerer,
Retired science teacher from NPHS

I never cared to use email to send a condolence, but due to our current sad times, it seems the best way to let Jean's family know how much I enjoyed knowing her. I first met Jean in 1990 when I started working at the district. She told me then that she was considering retirement. For 25 years it was a standing joke between us as she continued working. She was a spitfire and a really good person. My sincere condolences to her entire family.

Jean was one of the kindest people I ever met. It was a pleasure to work with her. No matter how busy she was, she ALWAYS took the time to help the teachers, students, and staff, and still find time to share a funny story.
Our sincere condolences to the family.

My memories of my Aunt Jean are of a caring and loving women. When i had my first child in February 1963, the winter that year was particularly cold and snowy. I didn’t have laundry facilities and would have to use the laundromat. So I wouldn’t have to take the baby out in the cold, Aunt Jean came and picked up my laundry twice a week for 2 months. She even ironed the babies clothes!! My husband BARRY and our 4 children enjoyed many picnics and birthday parties that she and my uncle gave. I loved having coffee with her over the past several years, just talking and sharing thoughts and memories. I will miss those times , but rejoice that she is with the Lord , happy and free!

Mrs. Mullen was one of the nicest person I ever met. She ran the math science Offices to a T, always lending a helpful hand or through her positive words. It is hard to believe this little lovely woman left such a huge footprint on our lives. We all loved her and will be truly missed. May God bless her and good bye for now Mrs. Mullen.

Jean’s Beans, Hi Jean, how’s biology came from our head secretary Josie Runyon to Jean and Jean always smiled. BS nights/“Banana Split” nights with all of us together laughing at the ice cream parlor in Dunellen. Jean was a living saint with all that copying and other assignments she completed with care and accuracy without a complaint. I missed her when I left. So happy she got to enjoy herself after retirement for at least a little while. God has a real angel back with him. Thanks for letting her be a part of mine
