Obituary of Amy Che

Our dearest daughter and sister, Amy Che, passed away very suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 18, 2020. Amy was born on September 7, 1999 in Basking Ridge, New Jersey and was a graduate of the Ridge High School class of 2017. She was a Goizueta Scholar in the class of 2021 at Emory University, where she was studying to receive a combined Bachelor's of Business Administration/Master's in Professional Accounting (BBA/MPA) degree and double major in Latin. Amy recently accepted an offer to join PwC’s Summer 2020 Advance Internship program in New York. Amy was an avid student of history and especially loved learning about classical antiquity and food history. She enjoyed visiting art museums and galleries, and The Met was her favorite destination in New York. Her love for French food inspired her interest in cooking, and one of her favorite movies was Ratatouille. She also loved to play badminton and was on her way to becoming a world traveler. Most of all, Amy enjoyed spending time with her friends and her loving family, and she will be missed by all. Amy is survived by her parents, Bihua Li and Hanxuan Che; her sister and brother in law, Erica Che and James Tate; her maternal grandparents, Shuying Wei and Shinan Li; her paternal grandmother, Yinyi Liu; her uncle Wenjun Che, aunt Jia Li and their son Andrew Che; her uncle Yongwei Li and aunt Jian Xin; and her aunt Yanping Che, uncle Yong Wang and their son Yibo Wang. A private funeral service for the family will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. A celebration of her life for friends and family will be held later this year. Amy was a brilliant and extraordinary person, with a pure heart full of love and kindness for others. Two causes she cared about in particular are education and fighting hunger. Please consider a donation in Amy’s name to Feeding America, Meals on Wheels, First Book, Khan Academy or your own favorite charity.
