Obituary of Thomas F. Sheelen

Thomas F. Sheelen, age 82, passed away peacefully at the McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung. He was a life-long resident of Plainfield, NJ. Tom received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Seton Hall University graduating in 1959. Prior to his retirement in 2005, he worked at the Trust Company of New Jersey for many years as a banker. He was a former member of the St. Bernard’s RC Church in Plainfield and the Holy Trinity Church in Westfield NJ. Tom enjoyed playing the piano, fishing and attending auto shows but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Theresa (Desmond) Sheelen in 2006. Tom is survived by his children Tracey O’Brien and her husband Matthew and Michael Sheelen and his wife Colleen, along with four grandchildren Ryan, Katie, Matthew and Delia. He is also survived by two brothers James and Robert. A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a later date to celebrate the life of Thomas Sheelen.
