Obituary of Thomas Landis

Thomas Landis, age 60, passed away Wednesday, April 1st, 2020, at RWJ University Hospital Somerset. Thomas was born January 24, 1960, in Plainfield, NJ was raised in Fanwood, NJ. He moved to Scotch Plains, NJ, and lived there from 1979 to 1989 before relocating to North Plainfield, NJ, where he resided to the present. Thomas was a graduate of Scotch Plains Fanwood High School. He studied Auto Mechanics at Union County Vo-Tech and Plumbing at Somerset County Vo-Tech. He worked for King George Plumbing in Warren, NJ, for seven years as a plumber. He later was employed at Fidelity Maintenance in Watchung, NJ for 17 years as the Head of Maintenance. Thomas was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in North Plainfield. Thomas loved to be with his friends and family. They all knew him as a Grill Master and Hot Wing Expert, as well as an avid fan of the New York Giants. He is so missed by his fur babies Hailey and Charlie, along with his former pets Bruiser, Max, and Sunny. Thomas is predeceased by his mother Rita Landis. Thomas is survived by his wife Rose Landis, and his children: Nicole Landis of North Plainfield, Ryan Landis of Asbury Park, and Jonathon Landis of Utah. He is also survived by his father, Thomas Landis of Arizona; his brothers Jim Landis and his wife Sherry of Branchburg, NJ, David Landis, and his wife Paula of Mayer, AZ, and Michael Landis and his wife Joann of Edison, NJ. A live-streamed Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm on the Higgins Home For Funerals website.
